Programs

Discovery World School consists of three programs: Early Experiences, ages 6 weeks to 2 years; Early Education School, ages 2 years to 5 years; and Primary School, ages 4.5 years to 6 years. All programs operate under the Discovery Method, which teaches children to discover what exists in the world around them in order to imagine what could be and create a better tomorrow. Our discovery-driven curriculum is integrated across these three programs. Our 21st century facilities were designed and built with the safety of your little ones specifically and primarily in mind.

Early Enrichment: 6 Weeks to 2 Years of Age

Discovery World's Early Experiences instills a solid emotional foundation in our youngest little explorers by introducing them to a variety of experiences and skills. Each day our infants enjoy sensory and spacial experiences; learn self-help, language, and motor skills; and engage in creative and social activities. This structure familiarizes infants with their own bodies, as well as things and people in the world around them, so that they approach life with a sense of confidence and understanding. By equipping infants early with a sense of confidence and understanding, they enter the world with a strong sense of self-worth and pride, making them much more likely to challenge themselves without fear of failure and entertain themselves with their own imagination. Teachers focus on healthy development through experiential active learning in very low ratio groups of 3:1 for the youngest to 4:1 for toddlers.

Early Education School: 2 Years to 5 Years of Age
Discovery World's Early Education School instills a love of learning and strong sense of self in our students by exposing them to a broad range of concepts, objects, and experiences from the world around them.  Every two weeks, our students "visit" a new and exciting country to explore the complexity and diversity of our planet.  Within each unit, we introduce our students to advanced cognitive, cultural, and social aspects of that part of the world, and we follow up our discoveries with activities that promote creative, character, and physical development.  Through this highly stimulating curriculum that progressively builds on each developmental level, students learn about themselves and their world around them. Our unified, themed curriculum provides a powerful framework for teaching young children about the complex and diverse nature of the world.  Our goal in doing this is to equip our students with a broad knowledge base so that, when they transition from the self-centered understanding of the world that is developmentally inherent in younger children to a more global perspective, they will have the necessary tools to succeed and thrive in it.

Primary School: 4.5 Years to 6 Years of Age
Discovery World's Primary School instills exploratory and cooperative learning skills and self-reliance skills in our elementary students by demonstrating the value in viewing challenges as opportunities and approaching them head-on.  We accomplish this through our project-oriented, hands-on curriculum, which encompasses cognitive, creative, social, character, and physical development.  Students are given opportunities to explore their passions through a variety of experiences in the arts, academics, sports, and community service. Our graduates are: active learners, excited about the opportunities in the world around them; caring friends, empathic towards others around them; and independent self-starters, equipped with the skills to approach challenges in the world around them.  Our Primary School offers Regular Kindergarten and Developmental Kindergarten for students with late birthdays to enter first grade with their friends.
